Danielle Marie, the 16-year old grandchild of philantrophist Engineer Cornelio Casido and Dr. Grace Amiana Casido cashed in a comfortable lead early in the search for Miss Pozorrubio Town Fiesta 2014. In the 1st Canvassing held last Friday December 6, 2013 at the Pozorrubio Plaza Pergola, Danielle’s 1st Box amounted to Php24,501 and her 2nd Box Php20,000 giving her a total of Php44,501.
Crizel Lopez Aurelio, of the Pozorrubio LGU and participating local government agencies to include the non-government organizations, landed second. Her 1st Box registered Php10,250 and her 2nd Box Php13,200 garnering her a total of Php23,450. Meanwhile , Josephine Romero Amansec, the candidate of DepEd which successfully sponsored last year’s Queen Jennifer Sangbaan, totalled Php15,700 from her 1st Box of Php9,550 and 2nd Box of Php6,150.

What is patupat? Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia have similar coconut-leaf-wrapped native delicacies made from sticky rice and wrapped either in banana or coconut leaves. Indonesians wrap the delicacy in carefully-woven packages using selected young coconut leaves (minus the midribs). They call it almost exactly like patupat, but without the first two letters – tupat. The big difference, however, is that it is cooked in boiling water. When the sticky rice is cooked, it is served with melted panocha or pakasiat. Continue reading

BILANG pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Pambansang Wika, ang mga guro at estudyante ng University of Luzon ay nagdaos ng isang payak na selebrasyon noong ika-27 ng Agosto, 2009 sa kanilang Pozorrubio Campus na matatagpuan sa Barangay Cablong.
Ang Kagalang-galang na Emma Zosima Chan, Punong-Bayan ng Pozorrubio at panauhing pandangal sa nasabing okasyon, ay bumati at nagpasalamat sa mga tagapangasiwa ng UL sa pangalawang taong tiyaga, pagpapatuloy at pagtuturo ng kaalamang tertiary at post-graduate sa bandang ito ng Pangasinan.
Sa talumpati ng Alkalde, kanyang nasambit na ang Pambansang Wika ay “ sana’y gamitin natin hindi lamang bilang lengwahe ng pananalita at panulat ng nagkakaisang Pilipino kundi bilang lengwahe ng ating puso mula dito hanggang sa pinakamalayong sulok ng mundo na may Pilipino”.
Pinakatampok na bahagi ng selebrasyon ay ang pagtatanghal ng kagalingan ng bawa’t college department at ang pagpili ng Lakambini at Lakan 2009 ng unibersidad.
