For the second time around, the leaders and municipal employees of this town are awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) for the transparency and accountability of their operations, and for excellence in good governance based on records. The screening was undertaken by the regional offices of the national government agencies led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under Secretary Mar Roxas. And to make the award even sweeter, Pozorrubio is upgraded to Silver Grade Awardee of the 2012 Seal of Good Housekeeping!
Information regarding Pozorrubio’s reception of this award was just relayed by DILG Austere Panadero last November 22, 2013 for the facilitation of the issuance of SGH certification for loan applications to programs such as the Bottom-UP Budgeting Program, otherwise known as the Grassroots Participatory Budget Process.
In recognition of its adherence to the policies of transparency and accountability with which Pozorrubio was awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping in the past year, this town is again chosen one the only nine (9) Most Outstanding Municipal Accounting Offices of the nation’s Local Government Units for the year 2012. The awarding ceremony was the highlight of the convention seminar of the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) held at the L-Fishers Hotel in Bacolod City this second week of October 2013. The LGU municipal awardees are ranked accordingly as follows: (1) Godod, Zamboanga del Norte, (2) Labo, Camarines Norte, (3) Vinzons, Camarines Norte, (4) Socorro, Oriental Mindoro, (5) Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, (6) Capalonga, Camarines Norte, (7) Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, (8) Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte, and (9) Valencia, Negros Oriental. There were only two (2) Province awardees: Pangasinan and Camarines Norte.- jv
Yersterday, September 8, 2013, a Sunday, Pozorrubians took the opportunity to avail of the free medical and dental services provided by a Medical Mission sponsored by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and the Eastern Pangasinan Chamber of Commerce in active partnership with LGU-Pozorrubio headed by Mayor Artemio Chan, the Sangguniang Bayan chaired by Vice Mayor Kelvin Chan, and the Pozorrubio Rural Health Unit. The mission was held at the Jose Magno Sports and Civic Center.

While the world was busy celebrating New Years Eve last Dec 31, 2010, the lone annual New Year’s Eve World Final pageant was holding its coronation ceremonies at the Grand Ballroom of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa at Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Fifty-six countries have been invited to take part in this event which was held in conjunction with a Special New Year’s Eve Countdown Party, making it the biggest ever in the history of the Miss Tourism International. The countdown was, so far, the biggest, too. Continue reading
