Fiesta 2011 executive committee releases temporary schedule of activities

The 2011 Fiesta Executive Committee held their first meeting last Thrusday, November 28 beginning two o’clock in the afternoon. Main agenda was to come out with the working selection of chairmen, vice chairmen and members of the different committees who will ensure the success of the 141st Pozorrubio Founding Anniversary and Town Fiesta to be held January 8-14 next year.

Former Mayor Emma T. Chan was unanimously elected to chair the Executive Committee in close partnership with Executive Vice-Chairmen from the Department of Education: District 1 Supervisor Dr. Gavino Bautista, District 11 Supervisor Dr. Rolando Amansec, Benigno V. Aldana National High School (BVANHS) Principal Dr. Roberto Quezon and Dr. Adela Salvatin of 189 High Schools. Mayor Artemio Chan chairs the Popularity Committee with vice-chair Vice Mayor Reynaldo Reyes. Mr. Manny Saplan is chairman of Balikbayan Affairs. The temporary schedule for the major events was also approved that balikbayans from here and abroad may arrange their homecoming to coincide with said events. Saturday morning of January 8 is for Prayer and Thanksgiving; Alumni Night is to be held that night. Community Night will be held Sunday of January 9. The Grand Parade of the Royalties will be on Monday morning of Jan. 10 while the Senior Citizens will have that night for their own. The 4th Patopat Festival is on Tuesday morning of Jan. 11 while the evening is reserved for the coronation of the 2011 Pozorrubio Queen and Princesses. DepEd Night is on Wednesday Jan. 12, and Barangay Night is on Jan. 13.

Dates for the other events will be forthcoming. No date has been set as yet for the Street Dancing and Drum and Lyre competitions and the Marathon to replace the Laro ng Lahi.

First canvassing of the Search for 2011 Pozorrubio Fiesta Queen is on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 and the 2nd / last canvassing will be on Jan. 5, 2011.
