Pozorrubio holds thanksgiving mass, oath-taking and turn-over ceremony in one sitting

Written by jV

June 28 was a good day to start afresh. Newly assigned parish piest Reverend Father Hurley John Solfelix officiated in the Thanksgiving Mass offered by and for the leaders and the people of this municipality, Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Judge Ma. Ligaya Itliong-Rivera administered the oath to the new set of executive and legislative officers, and local DILG officer Ma. Floricel Servito turned-over 60-days work of the department heads, of assembled documents, records and inventory of all properties pertaining to the operations of this municipality, as commissioned by the outgoing Mayor Emma Zosima T. Chan.

Everybody, (well, almost) were there. Incoming Mayor Artemio Chan, Vice Mayor Reynaldo Reyes and the new or re-elected councilors Kelvin Chan, Atty. Joseph Frianeza, Miguel Abalos Sr., Gloria Salcedo, Dr. Carlos Gramata, Reynaldo Magno III, Jovito Estaris Sr., Rogelio Amansec and their families Also the barangay councils, the department heads and the employees of the municipio, the DepEd family, representatives from the other government agencies, semi-government and non-government organizations (NGOs), the federation of senior citizens, the women and religious organizations, and others – the Pozorrubians here and abroad especially those who had always been partners to the continuing progress of the town.

The three events packed into one program did not take long. It only took three (3) hours, 7 to 10am. The attendees were then treated to a light breakfast of hot lomi, sandwich, coffee or fruit juice, or a quite heavy brunch of rice, pancit bijon, pork or chicken lechon, sweet and sour fish, bamboo shoot salad, sapinsapin, palitao or pitchipitchi and lychees, depending on which line one chose to follow one’s nose.
