Illinois Calvary Church conducts two-day medical mission

They came from Luzon and from the Visayas. They even came all the way from Naperville, Illinois (Chicagoland) of USA. These doctors, ophthalmologists and optometrists, dentists, nurses with suitcases and hand-carried bags and backpacks bulging not with clothes and pasalubongs and padala to friends and relatives, but pasalubongs and padala of an entirely different kind. Of medicines and medical equipments. Of eyeglasses. Of bandages and plasters and cotton wads. Of bibles and other religious materials.

For two days, January 29-30, they staffed the Medical Mission headed by Team Leader Reverend Mark Burgund, and tirelessly tended not only to the to the physically sick but also to  those who were in need of the holistic approach to healing. They were ably assisted by medical Team Coordinators Dr. and Mrs. Rudy and Aida Sarmiento, herself a nurse.

And their presence and participation (on January 29 at the Don Jose C. Magno Sports and Civic Center and the newly constructed RHU Building, and in Barangay Rosario on January 30) brought to a close the one-week annual celebration of the Municipal Bible Week.
